Did you know?
Under the Revised Protocol for Case Management of Child Victims of Abuse, Neglect, Exploitation, and Discrimination (CANE+D), the Child Protection Officer (preferably Social Worker) and the Law Enforcement Officer must conduct a joint interview with a child victim. This ensures that the child does not undergo repeated questioning that can cause re-traumatization.
A single, well-coordinated interview protects the child’s emotional safety and preserves the integrity of the case. It allows the child to share their experience in a safe, supportive, and trauma-informed environment β€” helping them begin the journey toward healing.
Children deserve protection, dignity, and compassion at every step of the process.
