From the earliest stages of life, many girl children face discrimination that limits their access to nutrition, education, healthcare, and opportunities simply because they are girls. In many places, harmful stereotypes and cultural biases continue to place boys above girls—resulting in lower school enrollment, fewer rights and opportunities, and exposure to violence, exploitation, early marriage, and other harmful practices.

These injustices are not the result of girls lacking potential. They are the result of societies that fail to see their worth.
